The Charity, Pets as Therapy, was set up to promote the proven benefits dogs can have in supporting pupils and adults.
Every Friday afternoon, Pippin and her owner, Mrs Benson visit school and support pupils for a number of reasons, for example, with their reading, social and emotional needs and sometimes just because it is great to spend time with them! Pippin, a working cocker spaniel, loves coming into school and spending time with them - they love stroking and cuddling her. The visits have a really positive impact on our pupil’s.
Pupils make good progress in reading, writing, mathematics and a range of subjects.
