At Farington Moss St. Paul’s we recognise the importance of developing pupils’ leadership qualities and all have opportunities to thrive in the role of a leader of some kind throughout their journey with us.
We are passionate about empowering our pupils to become young leaders. Each pupil leadership team seeks to enact positive change within the school community and beyond as we pursue our Christian vision, ‘Thrive in the Gift of Life’. They lead campaigns, organise events, and play a significant role in the life of the school.

Sports Leaders
Pupils from Year 5 and Year 6 haver the opportunity to become a sports leader. They spend a full day training delivered by our partnership with the South Ribble Active Sports team and once qualified can lead sporting activities to groups of children. This year the leaders create and deliver practical sports games for KS1 children every Thursday lunchtime.
School council
Our school council meet to discuss school, community, national and international issues. Following a local initiative by South Ribble Council (an event attended by the group), they wanted to look at the issue of car ‘idling’ during school drop-off/collection (cars parked with their engines running). They have carried out a vehicle survey of cars they found idling informed parents of the negative effects to the environment. They shared their findings with the school during a whole school worship. Well done councillors.
The work that teachers give pupils to do is interesting, engaging and exciting. It makes pupils think for themselves, reason things out and become good learners.
