Courageous Advocacy

Courageous Advocacy

At St Paul’s, we believe that every child can make a positive difference in the world. Through our courageous advocacy work, pupils learn that they have a voice and can use it to support others, challenge injustice and care for their local and global communities. We are proud to sponsor Ezekiel, a pupil at East Meru Community School in Tanzania, and our children regularly connect with him through Zoom calls, helping them develop a deeper understanding of global citizenship and the importance of education. Pupils organise fundraising activities including colouring competitions, cake sales and craft sales, raising money for charitable causes such as St Catherine’s Hospice and other community initiatives. We actively support the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, helping children understand remembrance, service and sacrifice, while our commitment to Fairtrade encourages pupils to consider how their choices can support farmers and communities around the world. More recently, our pupils demonstrated their passion for environmental stewardship by supporting a local campaign to protect century-old trees that were threatened by a proposed flood defence scheme. Through these experiences, our children learn that small actions can have a significant impact and that they have the power to be courageous advocates for change, justice and compassion.
