Collective Worship
Collective Worship
Daily worship, whether as a whole-school or in individual classes instils our Christian values which underpin pupils’ moral compass and teaches them the qualities of respect, forgiveness, compassion, and truthfulness. Using the teachings of bible stories and parables, pupils learn how these values can be played out in our lives. Every half term, as part of our teachings of our Christian values, children produce work for a display at the front of school and in church.
Spirituality is a core component to ‘living life in all its fullness’ as the mind, body and soul needs to be nurtured equally. It relates to fundamental questions about the meaning and purpose of life which affect everyone and is not dependant on a religious belief. It is also based on the search for ways to answer questions about life and a search for identity.
Here at St. Paul’s, pupils and staff experience spirituality through many different forms: collective worship, classroom worship, awe and wonder in nature, stillness, mindfulness, yoga, forest school, dog therapy, creativity, reading, hymn singing and music.
