This privacy policy explains how Farington Moss St Paul’s CE Primary School collects and uses personal information through this website. It covers the website only. Our full privacy notices for pupils, parents and carers, staff and governors explain how we use information in school, and are available on our Key Policies page or from the school office.
Who we are
Farington Moss St Paul’s CE Primary School, Croston Road, Farington Moss, Lancashire, PR26 6PR, is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. This means we decide how and why it is used.
Our Data Protection Officer can be contacted through the school office on 01772 336166 or by email at bursar@st-pauls-farington.lancs.sch.uk.
What information we collect
When you contact us
If you use the enquiry form on our website we collect your name, email address and the message you send. This is emailed to the school office so we can reply to you, and we email you a confirmation with a copy of your message. It is not stored on the website itself.
When you browse the website
Like most websites, our web server automatically records basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used to keep the website secure and working properly, and is deleted automatically after a short period.
If you agree to analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects information about how you use the site, such as the pages you visit and the type of device you use. This is anonymous - it does not tell us who you are. See our Cookie Policy for details.
Why we use it and our lawful basis
Replying to enquiries - so we can respond to you. Our lawful basis is our public task of running the school, or our legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us.
Keeping the website secure - our legitimate interests in protecting the website and the people who use it.
Analytics - to understand how the website is used and improve it. We only do this with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
How long we keep it
Enquiries sent through the website are kept only for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry, in line with the school’s records retention policy. Google Analytics data is kept for no longer than 14 months and is then deleted automatically.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We only share it with organisations that help us run the website, and only as much as they need:
our website hosting and support provider, who keeps the website running
our email provider, which delivers enquiry form messages to the school
Google, which provides Google Analytics (only if you have agreed to analytics cookies)
Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, we make sure appropriate safeguards required by UK data protection law are in place.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
ask us to delete your information, or restrict how we use it, in some circumstances
object to us using your information in some circumstances
withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent
To make a request, please contact the school office on 01772 336166 or email bursar@st-pauls-farington.lancs.sch.uk.
